From the outset, I was quite happy to read this book. It is short, practical, to the point, and it concerns one of the most important tools that Christians have at their disposal--prayer. Prayer is something that Christians don't tend to practice as they should, and Lynda Brown is one who has some fantastic advice for praying "effectual prayers that avail much."For the most part, Lynda Brown is on target Scripturally. After all, she quotes the Bible in her prayers, and I agree that is one way to be certain that you are praying according to God's will. She gives a sample prayer for the reader to examine and implement within his/her life. In this day and age of genuine spiritual warfare, prayer is an absolute must for the safety and well-being of all Christians.
There is one caution I have concerning this book. All to often, when God works in our lives in a certain way, we get so excited and tell everyone else about it. We recommend that other believers follow this same format to get the same results. In some ways, this is placing God in a box and/or expecting that since He worked like that for you, He will work just like that for someone else. All throughout Scripture, God worked in divers ways and means depending on the situation, culture, and the person. While I believe that praying according to God's will is essential, God sometimes does not answer in the way we want Him to. While praying for our loved one's safety is vital, there are times that God will allow our loved ones to become hurt, sick, and even die. Does that mean we don't have enough faith? No, it means that we are not seeing the whole picture, but God is. I am one who does not like formulas in books in regards to anything in the Christian life because I have followed too many of them in my life. I honestly don't believe the author means to come across in the way I read her, and it's not a major thing. Possibly if she had written more, I would have seen her heart and vision a little better than I do now.
I definitely recommend this book to Christians who need some advice and encouragement in the area of prayer. She has certainly given me plenty of food for thought, and I have been reminded of the great importance of my prayers life.

I listened to the audio book version of Powerful Prayer to Protect & Bless Your Family by Lynda D. Brown and completed the Powerful Prayer 30 Day Challenge. The best way I can sum up my experience during those 30 days is, "Stuff stopped popping up." And when anything unexpected occurred, it no longer had the power to derail my entire day. The prayer shared in this book will definitely continue to be a part of my mornings.
Lynda Brown, Trust in God Series 1 Powerful Prayers to Protect and Bless, shares how we go through trials, struggles, and hardships and how we need to strategically pray. Fear shouldn't be an issue with believers of Jesus Christ, for we have authority, dominion, and power over the Evil One. She challenges the reader (and believers) to not just base this spiritual battle with intellectual knowledge, but to obtain revelation knowledge and know about the power that they possess to defeat demonic spirits.
She points out that there are copycats who want to do what a man of God has done such as Apostle Paul casts out demonic spirits and then the Jews of Sceva attempted to perform the exorcist, but only was beaten and ran out naked in the streets because the demons never knew them nor had the power to cast them out.
She tells a prime example how believers are ignorant to the Word of God, or how we lack revelation knowledge, and turn to other things of the world such as horoscopes, magic, and other things to find the answers of which are clearly explained in the Bible. Moreover, the enemy doesn't want us to know whose we are and will do whatever it takes such as keep feeding us lies like he did with our forefather, Adam. His ultimate mission is to kill, steal, and destroy.
The author intent was to let believers know who they are in Christ, obtain revelation knowledge from the Word of God, and renewing of our minds and hearts to be transformed like our Maker. She writes a book well-needed for this generation and during this trying time like this to keep us encouraged, enlightened, and informed.
This is a short-to-the-point read that is laced with biblical insight, passages, and her life examples to reveal God's message for this day and time. More importantly, the enemy will try to do all he can to stop what God has called or assigned you to do.

This 10-chaptered book covers prayers, allowing God into your life, believing in Him and receiving the blessings He has for you and following His guidance. This book also has a 30 day challenge which challenges readers to pray for 30days for their families to protect them.
God has our best interest at heart because He knows our wants and needs. He will not forsake us or give us more than we can handle. Readers should not be afraid and should always have faith because you can do all things through God who strengthens us all. This message is very clear throughout the book. I am thankful to this author because I was given this book to review at the right time in my life. I appreciate the prayer template that will help readers start on their praying journey. However, my favorite chapter talks about believing and receiving. I learned that standing still and having patient will work in my favor. God wants to bless those who are worthy and believing in Him.
No weapon formed against readers will prosper after reading this book because readers will have the knowledge to with stand anything. I recommend this book to those looking for encouragement, hope and guidance.
